VATease History

founder_colin (19K)

VATease was founded in 1990 by Colin Greenhall.

Colin was an ex-officer of HM Customs & Excise who saw a need for someone to advise companies who had VAT issues or who had disagreements with HM Customs & Excise but who couldn't afford the fees of the then "Big 6" accountancy firms.

Colin started by calling in person to Birmingham businesses, talking to accountants, finance directors and bookkeepers alike on the concept of "in-house" VAT advice.

He quickly gained a reputation for timely, professional VAT advice given in clear and understandable terms.

Simone joined VATease in 1999 and took the reins just 2 years later. She was keen to maintain the high standards and build upon the firm's reputation.

It is difficult to track the amounts of VAT saved for clients but estimates show it to be in the tens of millions of pounds.

VATease has always recognised the value of its independancy from accountancy and other professional services firms meaning Client firms can be sure that there is no conflict of interest or risk of losing work to a rival firm.
